Tailor
Tailor your CV to the job posting.
Applicant tracking systems can rank you on the vocabulary of the posting rather than on the vocabulary of your CV. Paste the description, read the match score, and close the gap, without inventing anything. A Pro feature.
How it works
From a posting to a CV that matches it.
The analysis reads your CV and the posting side by side. It does not touch your CV: you decide what to change, and where.
-
Paste the job posting
The full text as published. Requirements, responsibilities and the nice-to-haves all carry the words the screening step looks for.
-
Read the match score
A score out of 100, split across hard skills, soft skills and experience, so you can see which of the three is holding you back before changing a word.
-
Make the changes, then export
You see which of the posting's keywords your CV is missing, with concrete suggestions. You edit the lines yourself in the editor, then export as PDF, DOCX or TXT.
Example
Product Manager 61% Partial match
Keywords matched
- Roadmap
- Agile
- Stakeholder management
Keywords missing
- SQL
- A/B testing
Why it matters
Some filters read words, not careers.
Many employers use software that ranks applications before a person opens them, and the posting's keywords can weigh in that ranking. Checking your CV against the posting shows which ones you are missing.
-
Synonyms may not count
A posting asking for stakeholder management may give no credit to experience described as working closely with clients. Same work, different words, and some screening software only matches the words.
-
Order carries weight too
Recruiters often skim the top of the first page. If the experience that matches the posting sits in fourth position, it can go unnoticed.
-
One CV cannot cover two roles
Applying for a product role and a programme role with the same document leaves each version half-right. Check each posting on its own, and adjust the CV for the one you are sending.
-
Gaps are reported, not hidden
The analysis does not write anything into your CV. Where the posting asks for something you have not done, the score reports the gap instead of papering over it, which is the useful answer.
Country guides
Applying abroad? The posting is only half of it
A tailored CV still has to look like a local one. These guides cover the format each market expects, and if the posting is not in your CV's language, translate it first.
-
The German CV (Lebenslauf)
Photo expected, two pages, a handwritten signature.
-
The UK CV
Two pages, a personal statement, and none of the personal data.
-
The US resume
No photo, no personal data, results before duties.
-
The Dutch CV
A plain register, a photo, experience ahead of education.
-
The Spanish CV
A photo is normal and a data-protection line is expected.
-
The Italian CV
Photo, date of birth, and the privacy line everyone still adds.
-
CV or resume?
The same word names two different documents depending on the country.

FAQ
Tailoring a CV: the questions we get
How does tailoring actually work?
You paste the job description into the editor. It is compared with what your CV already says, and you get a match score out of 100, split across hard skills, soft skills and experience, the posting's keywords you already cover, the ones missing, and concrete suggestions on what to change. Your CV is not modified: you make the edits.
Is tailoring free?
No. Creating a CV, importing one you already have and previewing it in any template are free, with no card. Job posting analysis is a Pro feature: $7.99 for Pro Week, paid once and never renewed, or $14.99 a month.
Will it invent experience I do not have?
No. It does not write into your CV at all. It tells you which of the posting's keywords are missing; adding one is your call, and only where your experience supports it.
Does it change my CV?
No. The analysis leaves your CV exactly as it is. You apply the suggestions you agree with in the editor, and Pro includes unlimited PDF and DOCX downloads.
Does it work with postings in another language?
Yes. If you are applying in a language your CV is not written in, translate it first, then run the analysis on the translated version so the keywords are compared with the posting as it was published.
Stop sending the same CV to every posting.
